Besides enjoying the peace and quiet and open spaces, the private swimming pool and the charming little houses on the estate, the area of Le Chant de Verdier has also a lot to offer both young and old. The Chemin de Saint Jacques de Compostelle, the well-known pilgrim's route to Spain (the GR65) runs right past our estate, so there's no shortage of lovely walks. If you're more adventurous, there's a great mountain biking area at Le Causse. There's very little traffic there and you have a wide choice of routes. In Cajarc you can go canoeing or water-skiing and a little further up, you can go rafting on the Célé at Figeac. And let's not forget mountaineering, survival courses and fishing. If all that is too much for you, or if you simply want to relax on holiday, you can always visit the wonderful chateaus and picturesque spots like Rocamadour, Saint-Cirque-Lapopie and Cahors. The prehistoric cave paintings in "Les Grottes du Pech Merle" is also well worth a visit.
Play area and children's farm
Le Chant du Verdier is great fun for children! And why not, with its own children's farm with goats, rabbits and chickens, playground equipment in the play area, not forgetting the lovely swimming pool. There's a large goat farm in the hamlet of Le Verdier that's fun to visit and naturally you can buy delicious goats' cheese there. In the woods near the village of Calvignac there are open air riding stables. They organize pony trips through the Causse for children from 2,5 years old upwards. Besides this, there's an open air swimming pool with children's playground in the village of Cajarc, while in Figeac there's a larger complex with swimming pool, restaurant and children's recreation area with soft and hard play equipment.
